The regime ladder

A monthly language for the machine.

Ten states describe the system's internal condition: Expansion, Expansion Developing, Balanced, Transitional, Compression, Fragile Recovery, Instability, Degradation, Drawdown Control, and Critical State. Six metrics are scored −2 to +2 each, composited into a −12 to +12 read, with four sub-labels per regime adding nuance.

  • A governance-readout layer for the trading system itself — never a replacement for gate authority.
  • Each regime carries a call-to-action inside the larger compliance system: expand, hold, review, or defend.
  • Monthly cadence by design: regimes describe structural months, not noisy days.

Where it lives

Inside Regime Classification.

This page expands one card of the Regime Classification page into its own reference. For orientation, the module's own framing: The Regime Classification Engine does not say whether EURUSD is trending. It classifies the internal condition of the trading system itself — pressure, health, volatility, transition behavior, persistence, and compression — converting monthly gate and brake telemetry into a regime label, sub-label, and call to action.

Ladder asymmetry

03

Descending the ladder is fast. Climbing back is earned.

Regime transitions are asymmetric by construction: deterioration signals act quickly, while recovery classifications require sustained evidence across consecutive months. The asymmetry mirrors the gate doctrine one level up — a machine is presumed fragile until it re-proves stability, because the cost of premature optimism is always paid in capital.
