MARS Pro Life Tracker — the MARS Notion template
The system governs your capital.
This governs your life.
What it is — and what it refuses to be
It is not a journal. It is not a tracker.
It does not log a single trade, compute a single metric, or duplicate one cell of the workbooks. That restraint is the design, not a limitation of it. Notion is a poor calculator and an excellent place to think — so this template does the thinking, and the rail keeps the arithmetic. Two tools, each doing the job it is actually good at.
Excel — CP3 and the rail
The calculator
Computes the verdict. Gate state, brake tiers, expectancy, compliance, benchmark bands. Hardwired, unforgiving, and it does not care how you feel about the answer.
Notion — the MARS template
The life around it
Where you organize the days, the health, the focus, and the learning that determine whether you can execute the answer at all. It documents. It does not compute.
The four pillars
A life, documented. A trader, sustained.
Life
Life organization
The whole second-brain apparatus — capture inbox, goals, initiatives, actions, knowledge. Everything in your head goes somewhere, and everything you do traces up to something you chose.
Wellness
Wellness
Sleep, routine, health, focus, energy. Not decoration. A trader's edge decays when the life underneath it is chaos, and the decay never shows up in the equity curve until it is already expensive.
Doctrine
Trading documentation
Where the MARS modules are documented — the rules, the doctrine, your own notes and amendments as your understanding develops. Where you write what you are learning about your system. Not where you record what it did.
Improvement
Consistent improvement
The deliberate self-improvement loop. Habits tied to goals rather than floating alone, reviews that adjust the machine rather than admire it, gains that compound because they were noticed.
The workspace
Four dashboards. One hub.
Simple frontend, powerful backend. No widget walls, no dopamine dashboards, no burrowing through sub-sub-pages to take a simple action. Every screen exists because a mode of working demanded it.
Home
See it all
One consolidated hub. Your pillars, your week, your commitments — without switching apps or hunting through sub-pages.
Execute
Focus the day
What you are working on now, and nothing else. The decision about what to do today was already made — this is where you do it.
Close
Finish clean
The daily close. Capture what mattered, mark what moved the needle, put the day down properly instead of letting it bleed into the next one.
Doctrine
Find anything
The knowledge and documentation layer. The MARS modules, your rules, your amendments, your operating manual — all inside the workspace, right where you need them.
The cascade
Nothing floats alone.
Every action traces up to an initiative, to a goal, to a pillar. If an initiative has no ready action, it is not real work — it is an intention wearing a project’s clothes. The structure forces the translation, which is why the system holds when motivation does not.
Pillars
The foundationThe handful of areas that decide whether you can trade at all — capital, health, sleep, relationships, income outside the account, study. Pillars barely change. Their job is to make neglect VISIBLE before it reaches the equity curve, because by the time a neglected pillar shows up in your drawdown it has already cost you.
Goals
What matters this seasonOne to three outcomes per pillar, and no more. The rest stay in the system, visible and unforgotten, but not competing for attention. This is the same selectivity the throttle enforces on risk, applied to ambition: the constraint is the point.
Initiatives
The active workThe projects that move a goal — rebuilding a playbook, sitting a demo period, fixing a sleep pattern, working through a module. Each carries a state: Focus, Background, or Queued. Nothing drifts silently, and nothing sits half-alive pretending to be progress.
Actions
The only thing you executeIf an initiative has no ready action, it is not real work yet — it is an intention. The workspace forces that translation. You do not decide each morning what to do; that decision was already made when you were calm, which is exactly the argument MARS makes about position sizing.
Reviews
Where drift diesWeekly steering and monthly realignment, sitting alongside the weekly and monthly cadence the workbooks already run. You are not reflecting for its own sake. You are adjusting a machine — and unlike the workbooks, this one is you.
Reviews are not journaling. Weekly is steering — adjust what works, surface what is stuck. Monthly is realignment — zoom out, rebalance, reset focus. You do not reflect for its own sake. You adjust the machine.
Ten operating methods
Methods, not widgets.
Each of these is a documented working method, and each one is here because it does something specific inside a trading life. The translation is the value — a generic productivity system will give you the method and leave you to work out what it means at 6am on a session you should not be trading.
01
Priority ordering
Urgency and importance sorted for you, so the loudest task stops beating the most valuable one. The trading equivalent of letting the gate decide instead of the feeling.
02
Energy scheduling
The week planned against your actual state rather than an idealised one. Sessions you should not be trading are identified BEFORE you sit down, not explained afterwards.
03
Context protection
Each mode shows only what belongs to it. Chart time is not admin time. The cost of switching is real and this is the part of the workspace that refuses to pay it.
04
The 80/20 read
Periodic review of which initiatives actually produced. Most traders already accept this logic about setups and never apply it to how they spend a week.
05
Bottleneck analysis
The one constraint currently holding a pillar back, named and given actions. Structural diagnostics, pointed at the operator rather than the account.
06
Time tracking
Where the hours went, grouped by pillar and initiative. Evidence, not impression — the same standard the system demands of your trade record.
07
Dynamic journaling
Entries that carry what you actually completed, so a month can be reviewed against what happened rather than what you remember happening.
08
Habits tied to goals
Habits attached to the goal they serve instead of floating in a streak counter. A streak you cannot justify is decoration.
09
The shutdown ritual
A daily close that clears the deck and sets tomorrow deliberately. The market gets a session close; so should you. This is the mechanic that stops one bad day becoming a bad week.
10
One capture inbox
Actions, notes, ideas, resources, questions — all in one place in seconds, before they slip. The capture layer is free forever in the preview edition.
What changes
The value is a difference, not a feature list.
Rules live in your head and drift quietly
Doctrine is written, versioned, and amended on purpose
Bad sessions get explained after the fact
Poor state is flagged before you sit down
Goals float and compete with whatever is loudest
One to three per pillar, everything else visible but parked
The week ends and you cannot say where it went
Hours grouped by pillar, reviewed against outcome
Study, health and capital drift out of balance unnoticed
Neglect surfaces in review before it reaches the account
One bad day bleeds into the next
A daily close puts it down and sets tomorrow deliberately
What arrives
Everything, ready to run.
One duplication and the workspace is live. No blank pages, no formula archaeology, no three-week build before you get any value out of it.
The whole workspace, ready to run
Duplicate once and start the same day. No blank pages, no building, no formula archaeology.
Four dashboards, one per mode
Home, Execute, Close, Doctrine. Each shows what that mode needs and hides the rest.
The Cascade, already wired
Pillars, Goals, Initiatives, Actions and Reviews connected, so every action traces up to something you chose.
The MARS modules documented inside
Doctrine, rules, thresholds and your own amendments — in the workspace, not in a folder you never open.
Weekly and monthly review loops
Aligned to the cadence the workbooks already run, so the two systems share one rhythm instead of competing for your Sunday.
Wellness and energy tracking
Sleep, routine, focus and state, tracked where the trading decisions are — because that is where they show up.
Capture inbox and daily close
The two mechanics that keep the system alive when the week gets bad. Both free forever in the preview edition.
Works on your phone
Capture a thought or check the day from anywhere. A system you cannot reach at 11pm is a system you will abandon.
The operating manual, built in
The reasoning behind each part, sitting where you need it rather than in a separate PDF.
Lifetime updates
Every future version at no extra cost, on the same one-time terms as the rest of the system.
Honest scoping
Who this is for.
This is for you if
- You run MARS and want the life around it held to the same standard
- Your rules and amendments are scattered across notes, chats and memory
- You already suspect your worst trading days are really bad-state days
- You want one workspace instead of five apps and a notebook
This is not for you if
- You want a trade journal or a metrics dashboard — that is CP3's job, and this never duplicates it
- You want a system that thinks for you; this one structures your thinking so you do it better
- You are not willing to spend a few minutes closing the day
Two editions
Same workspace. Two depths.
The wellness core is identical in both — every pillar, every dashboard, the full improvement loop. What changes is how much of MARS is documented inside it. So the upgrade is continuous rather than a repurchase: you do not migrate workspaces, you deepen the one you have.
Included with MARS Lite
Lite Edition
The complete wellness and life documentation core — every pillar, every dashboard, the full improvement loop. The Lite workbooks are documented inside it.
The Lite modules documented
Included with the full system
Standard Edition
The same workspace, at full depth. Every one of the ten modules documented, plus the bonus Certified Validation QA Architecture — doctrine, rules, thresholds, and your own amendments in one place, alongside the life that has to hold steady for any of it to work.
All ten modules plus the bonus QA Architecture documented
The template is not a workbook, so do not count it against the eleven. It is a different category of thing entirely — the workspace the workbooks are operated from, and the life that has to hold steady for any of them to be worth running.
Both tiers include it.
The Lite Edition ships with MARS Lite. The Standard Edition ships with the full system, all ten modules plus the bonus Certified Validation QA Architecture, documented.
