The MARS Story · Six Problems
Six problems that quietly destroy traders.

Problems 1–3
01Edge, emotion, and drawdown.
The first three failures corrupt judgment:
- Traders confuse profit with edge — MARS separates outcome from expectancy with branch probabilities, EV, blended EV, and structural drift.
- Traders deploy risk emotionally — MARS routes risk through gate state, drawdown level, throttle logic, open exposure, and EV condition, never mood.
- Traders ignore drawdown structure — gate states from Growth to System Lock define capital posture; a good setup cannot override a restricted gate.
Problems 4–6
02Exposure, attribution, and variance.
The second three failures corrupt measurement:
- Traders mismanage open exposure — MARS treats open trades as active exposure consuming pool capacity, resizing fresh deployment around what’s already at risk.
- Traders can’t see which part is working — Normal, Trend Partial, Trend No-Partial, and Overflow are tracked individually so diagnosis is sharp.
- Traders can’t separate variance from decay — rolling analytics, stability tracking, Monte Carlo comparison, and regime classification make the distinction measurable.
The common thread
03All six problems are measurement failures in disguise.
Revenge trading, size creep, unpriced friction, P&L myopia, variance panic, silent decay — each looks behavioral, and each persists only because something went unmeasured. The MARS answer is monotonous on purpose: instrument the blind spot, route the reading into governance, and watch the 'psychology problem' shrink to the size of its data.
