SDE — The Entity Universe
Seven entities: four primitive, three composite.
Layer 01 — The primitives
Branch-level diagnosis finds where the problem lives.
Each primitive branch gets its own structural read across EV, DD, RAER, RAPF, and ACCEL. A decaying Trend Partial can hide inside healthy blended numbers for weeks — branch-level pipelines are what catch it while it's still one branch's problem.
Layer 02 — The composites
Composite diagnosis judges the machine as a whole.
The three composite entities answer the portfolio question: is the blended system improving, weakening, stabilizing, or contradicting itself? A system can show four individually-acceptable branches and still compose into a deteriorating whole — blend weights, correlation, and allocation drift live at this level.
How MARS uses this
The Weekly Scorecard converts branch hit probabilities into EV and tags each week by threshold. The rolling line is what MARS actually trusts: single-week readings are treated as noise until the rolling window confirms direction. RED weeks trigger doctrine - reduced aggression and review - rather than negotiation.
How it benefits you
You learn to distinguish a bad week from a broken system. Variance stops triggering rule changes, and genuine expectancy decay gets caught while it is still one line on a chart instead of a hole in the account. The GREEN/YELLOW/RED language also makes weekly review fast and unambiguous.
Weekly EV tagged GREEN / YELLOW / RED against expectancy thresholds, with the rolling-EV line separating persistent edge from one lucky week.
Layer 03 — Using both levels
Localize first, then judge the blend.
The operating pattern: when a composite read weakens, drill to the primitives to find which branch is driving it; when a primitive weakens, check the composites to see whether the blend is absorbing it or amplifying it. Seven entities, one investigation path.
Layer 04 — Primitive versus composite
Composites can only fail through their primitives.
The three composite entities are built exclusively from the four primitives — no side inputs, no discretionary adjustments. The constraint is diagnostic gold: when a composite deteriorates, the decomposition points at exactly which primitive moved, and repairs aim at causes. Composites with private inputs fail mysteriously; these cannot.

Deep dive — 01
Seven entities: what the SDE is actually allowed to diagnose.
Four primitive branches, three composite blends. A closed universe, because the two kinds answer different questions.

Never average a ratio: the rule that keeps composites honest.
Composite RAER is composite PnL over composite risk. Average the branch ratios instead and the number inverts.

Three composites, three questions — and why one would not do.
All Blended contains everything, which is exactly why it explains nothing. The other two are defined by what they leave out.
