The vision
01From workbooks to platform.
MARS ships today as an Excel-native system — deliberately transparent, auditable, and owned outright. The SaaS platform in development carries the same doctrine to the cloud: same authority stack, same rails, zero black boxes. The AlphaRail Foundry Laboratory extends the ecosystem with interactive tooling and the Market Wizards study lineage.
Where it lives
02Inside Mission & Vision.
Within Mission & Vision, this is one load-bearing idea — worth its own page. The parent module frames it this way: Most retail traders fail from operational weakness, not bad entries. Our mission is to give individual traders the operating structure — governance, diagnostics, benchmarking — that institutions consider non-negotiable.
Sequencing
03Workbooks first was a choice, not a constraint.
The Excel generation of MARS exists because governance logic should be legible before it is automated — every formula inspectable, every rule auditable by the person it governs. The platform generation inherits that transparency as a requirement: nothing gets automated that wasn't first proven understandable on a sheet.
How MARS uses this
MARS runs the modeled rules - branch probabilities, payoff structure, gate transitions, tier allocation - across 50,000 alternate histories and keeps the percentile bands as the reference envelope. Every review, live equity is plotted against that envelope, and the position is read together with drawdown bands, gate dwell, and tier behavior before any conclusion is drawn.
How it benefits you
You stop grading yourself by feel. Instead of 'I am behind' or 'this month feels slow', you know whether performance sits inside normal variance, is genuinely outperforming, or is drifting under the model - and whether that drift is edge decay or execution drag. It removes both panic below median and false confidence at a lucky P90.
Equity percentile fan across 50,000 simulated paths. Violet is P10-P90, blue is P25-P75, the gold dash is the median, and the green line is live equity drawn against the envelope.
Connected inside MARS
This module doesn't work alone.

Deep dive — 01
A cloud edition can hide its arithmetic, and that is the whole risk of the migration.
The interface is the easy part. Carrying the property that a spreadsheet enforced for free is the hard one.

The buyer of a workbook holds something permanent. The subscriber to a platform does not.
A governance system that can be switched off by its vendor has a failure mode the workbook does not have.

A company that grades trading claims for a living has to grade its own.
Shipped, building, intended, considered. The same evidential discipline the system demands of a trading conclusion.
