The pattern
Three components carry a comparison against the previous bar.
The conditions are explicit and they are not incidental. Momentum acceleration requires the histogram to be greater than it was on the prior bar, in addition to being on the correct side of zero. Trend strength requires the reading to be above its floor and rising, not merely above its floor. Volatility expansion is purely a slope test. Only structural position, the momentum oscillator's threshold and the gear alignment are pure level tests. Half the stack, by count, is asking about change rather than state.
| component | Test type | Passes when |
|---|---|---|
| Ichimoku | Level | Outside cloud, ordered |
| MACD | Level and derivative | Right side, expanding |
| RSI or MFI | Level | Beyond the 60 or 40 line |
| ADX | Level and derivative | Above floor and rising |
| ATR slope | Derivative only | Expanding into the move |
Level tests establish that a condition holds. Derivative tests establish that it is being renewed. A continuation thesis needs the second kind, and the stack is built to supply it.
