The rail end to end: journal to deployment, in one pass.

The key idea

Stage one — capture

The journal is the system of record, and everything inherits its honesty.

Every downstream number in MARS is a transformation of journal entries: branch, status, risk, fees, MAE/MFE, adherence, gate state at the time, outcome. Nothing further up the rail can be more accurate than what was captured here, which is why the weekly reconciliation routine — paper capture during the week, reconciled against the broker record, entered with exact branch and hit flags — is treated as production discipline rather than bookkeeping. A misattributed branch doesn't just corrupt one row; it silently corrupts the branch EV, the variant attribution, and eventually the deployment decisions built on both.

Stage two — evidence

The weekly layer turns trades into verdicts.

Raw trades become evidence at the weekly cadence. The Weekly Summary aggregates the week's mechanics — hit rates, branch counts, fees, adherence. The EV Scorecard converts that into the master metric: branch expectancy, blended expectancy, and a week status that answers whether the strategy is still producing acceptable expectancy under the current branch mix. This is where 'I had a good week' becomes a number with a defensible construction, and it's the last stage that speaks purely about performance. Everything above it speaks about structure.

Stage three — diagnosis

The structural layer asks why, and what state the system is in.

Expectancy tells you what's happening; the diagnostic layer explains it and classifies the system's condition. The Structural Diagnostic Engine reads deeper structural quality. The Regime Classification Engine labels the internal monthly state — expansion, compression, instability, degradation, and their neighbors. The Contradiction Engine catches the cases where risk-adjusted profit and risk-adjusted efficiency disagree, which is exactly where naive readings go wrong. The MAE/MFE lab audits execution quality inside each trade. Crucially, none of these deploy anything: they produce structural truth and hand it upward.

Each stage consumes the one below and produces something the one above needs. The simulation layer sits alongside as the ruler; it informs interpretation without entering the authority chain.

Stage four — authority

Gate first, then the tier decision inside it.

Capital state enters as its own authority, computed from drawdown alone: the gate ladder locates the account and sets both the pool-budget row and the hard tier ceiling. Only then does the 7-Tier Decision Engine resolve a tactical tier inside that ceiling, using daily evidence, the weekly structural read, Category 6 composite confirmation, and the diagnostic overlays as caps and vetoes. The Throttle Control Panel converts all of it into the operational answer: final tier, cycle pool percent, per-trade average risk, and the operator directive for the next cycle. Smart open-exposure logic then subtracts whatever carryover risk is already live.

The parallel track

Simulation runs alongside, not inside.

The Monte Carlo layer — the lab, the dynamic benchmark, the percentile tables — is deliberately not a stage on the authority path. It's the ruler held up against it: modeling what governed performance should look like, so live results can be located rather than felt. It informs interpretation and never grants permission, which is the same boundary the analytics labs live under. Alongside it sits the R&D sandbox, where candidate changes to any part of the rail are tested before the promotion workflow lets them touch production. Two parallel tracks, one primary rail, and strict rules about what may cross between them.
