Four questions
How much, how intensely, right now, and what happened.
Every deployment decision decomposes into four questions, and each rail owns exactly one. The gate ladder answers how much authority the account currently has, given its distance from peak. The tier model answers how intensely that authority may be expressed per trade. The throttle answers what may be deployed right now, given what is already open. The audit trail answers what was actually done, so the first three can be reviewed. Nothing in the set is redundant, because no rail can answer another's question. The decomposition is also a useful diagnostic for other systems: a trading approach that cannot answer all four questions separately is combining at least two of them into one judgement, usually the operator's.
