CP3 — Layer 03 · Capital Authority

Gate / Brake State. The layer nothing can override.

How MARS uses this

Each closed trade logs its worst adverse excursion and best favorable excursion. The lab plots them into quadrants and pairs the picture with capture efficiency, giveback, and fee drag - then the EV Driver Diagnostics rank which repair (entry location, coefficient, trail logic, cost avoidance) would move net expectancy most.

How it benefits you

Review produces one concrete fix instead of a vague resolution to 'trade better'. You see whether stops are too tight, entries are chased, exits leak the runner, or fees quietly eat the edge - and whether a profitable week was actually clean or just lucky.

CLEAN: low pain, high opportunitySURVIVORS: works, but absorbs painQUIET: low pain, low reachBLEEDERS: pain without payoffMAE (stop consumed) →MFE (opportunity) →

Every trade plotted by pain taken (MAE) versus opportunity generated (MFE). The four quadrants diagnose entry precision and exit management at a glance.

The key idea

How it works

Deterministic routing from drawdown truth.

Gate state is not a judgment call. It is computed from Equity Peak High drawdown and routes capital authority mechanically.

  • Deterministic gate routing from EPH drawdown
  • Brake tones defining posture from full authority to full stop
  • Gate-dwell tracking — how long capital lives in defensive states

The seven gates

Growth → Recovery → Buffer → Floor → Deep-Floor → Ground-Floor → System Lock.

Each gate caps the maximum risk tier available to the throttle. A favorable EV read, a constructive SDE posture, or a strong Daily EV Status cannot outrank the gate — tactical evidence never redefines drawdown authority.

Operating rule

03

Check it after every session.

The manual's daily cadence ends here: check Dashboard and Gate_Brake_State after the session. If drawdown or brake conditions deteriorated, respect the system — even if the latest trade felt discretionary-valid.

Precedence in practice

The gate row is read before any other row matters.

CP3 renders gate/brake state at the top of the weekly read because interpretation is conditional on it: a +9R week under GREEN is expansion evidence, while the same week clawed back under a compressed gate is recovery — encouraging, but not license. Reading results before state is the exact mistake the layout is built to prevent.
